The "Attack" on Xinhuamen

"You Say Attack, We Say Overcrowding"

In the early morning hours, student demonstrators, their number swelled by onlookers, gathered at Xinhuamen, the ceremonial main entrance to Zhongnanhai, calling for democracy, freedom and dialogue with the leaders. Clashes erupted between protestors and police guarding the entrance.
