Zhao Ziyang Returned

A second "dialogue meeting" took place with invited student representatives, which too produced few meaningful discussions.
 
Over 30 people from the academia, intelligentsia and media hold a public forum on the movement, noting that the 4.27 march marked the bankruptcy of the Party's authoritarian rule.
 
The class boycott continued, with about 90,000 students, which translated to 70% of the student population in Beijing, supporting it.
 
The Party Secretary Zhao Ziyang returned to Beijing from a visit to North Korea.
